Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What are the consequences of my registering my vital life events in the country in which I live?
Registration merely records the life events in Lebanon. It does not affect your citizenship at all. The right to register comes from the existence of a family line, devolved through the father. When you register life events, it does not mean you give up any right of the citizenship in the country in which you live.
Can I hold dual citizenship in the country in which I live?
In the United States of America, it is, in general, not forbidden to hold citizenship in two countries, when there is no intent to relinquish U.S. citizenship. For further information about this issue, please contact your regional coordinator.
